Sora’s technical achievement and its product design point in different directions. The generation quality — particularly motion, physics and audio synchronization — is at the front of the field. The packaging, a feed-based app built around remixing other people’s clips, targets consumers rather than production teams.
That matters when you evaluate it against Runway or similar tools. Sora will usually give you a better single clip. It will not give you the masking, camera control and cleanup tools you need to turn ten imperfect clips into a finished thirty seconds.
Content policy is the other planning variable. Restrictions around real people, recognizable characters and a broad set of sensitive categories are enforced tightly, and the rules have changed more than once under public pressure.
